Family pay tribute to ‘much-loved’ new dad stabbed to death as man charged with murder
The family of a “much-loved” new dad who was stabbed to death paid tribute today as police charged a man with murder.
Nathan Burton, 27, was found fatally wounded by police after they were called to an address in Woodhurst Road, Moseley, at 11pm on Wednesday.
He leaves behind a 10-month-old daughter who he “loved so very much,” his devastated relatives said in a statement today.
The dad-of-one was rushed to hospital where medics battled to save his life until he died the following morning.
A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.
Chad Henderson, 43, of Woodhurst Road, has since been charged with murder.
Henderson was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder before the victim passed away from his injuries.
The alleged killer was remanded in police custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today.
The victim’s family said today: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our much loved son, brother and father Nathan, he is going to be greatly missed, but will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on through his ten-month-old daughter who he loved so very much.
“We are thankful for the joy and laughter he brought to us all and for the precious time that we had, even though it has been cut so needlessly short.”
West Midlands Police have said their thoughts are with the grieving family who are being supported by specially trained officers.
